There has been a substantial change in the way labor and individuals are managed in societies and businesses with the transition from the usage of slaves to the creation of Human Resources (HR). This progression demonstrates the shift in human capital management from exploitation to a more methodical and moral approach.

Slavery in Historical context

Slavery lasted until more recent times and was common in many ancient communities, especially in the Americas during the transatlantic slave trade. People in slavery were treated more like property than like workers, and their labor was used for profit with little consideration for the welfare or rights of the individual.
